Photography Festival

Dear Friends of FotoDC,
As we always strive to keep you abreast of the most interesting arts and cultural happenings in the area, we wanted to let you know about the wonderful LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph ( happening this June 9, 10, 11 in downtown Charlottesville, VA.

The LOOK3 Festival is 3 days of on-stage presentations with world renown photographers, gallery exhibitions, and nightly projection events. Photographers, editors, curators, and media professionals from all over the world will gather in Charlottesville to share ideas, images, and inspiration.

This year LOOK3 will celebrate legendary photographers: Nan Goldin, Massimo Vitali, and Antonin Kratochvil. Also featured at LOOK3 will be George Steinmetz, Steve McCurry, Christopher Anderson, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Ashley Gilbertson, David Liittschwager, and more than 40 artists from around the world whose visual essays and multimedia projects will be projected each evening. LOOK3 also hosts workshops the week prior to the Festival and this year will be taught by Mary Ellen Mark, Christopher Anderson, Alex and Rebecca Webb, Brian Storm (MediaStorm), and David Alan Harvey.

Founded in 2008, FotoWeek DC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has evolved from a citycentric photography festival to FotoDC, a multi-season tribute to photography in all its forms. FotoDC celebrates the transformative power of photography through the exhibition of inspiring and provocative images, diverse programming, and collaboration with the local and international community. FotoWeek DC continues to play a central role in FotoDC programming, with its annual festival in November.
